The nitty-gritty of SL relationships

Niche direction for Apogeevr.com
This site has undergone a bit of tweaking in the past couple of weeks, both in its scope of coverage of the online phenomenon, as well as in its appearance, so I thought a quick site update might be appropriate.

– Sex: Basically, here’s the new skinny: instead of focusing broadly on virtual reality in general, like this site did when it first was created, Apogeevr.com will now zoom in exclusively on the adult aspects of Second Life, since it is one of the most sophisticated and intriguing social MMOs out there. And many of the avatars who populate SL’s digital terrain are pretty deeply involved in simulated sex (in all of its wonderfully unconventional forms), and that’s one of the areas that this site will be concentrating very heavily upon from now on in terms of its coverage and content.

– Relationships: Also, after spending some more time in-world, meeting and chatting with other avatars via my own alter ego Cheri Horton, and after further reflection on where I want this site to go, Apogeevr.com also is going to start publishing content that gets into the nitty-gritty of adult relationships in Second Life, and that does not necessarily have to involve virtual nookie and nudity. I mean, yeah, there will be digital flesh aplenty displayed here via quality photographs, so don’t fret. But there also will be content dealing with the specific nature and dynamics of avatars’ relationships with each other.

For example, I’ll be interviewing couples, as well as avatars who maintain more unconventional social and adult partnerships in-world, such as those that may involve numerous SL users who hook up regularly in-game because it’s mutually beneficial and gratifying in some way. In fact, I have an interview lined up for this weekend, and I should be posting about it perhaps some time tomorrow, maybe sooner.

– My own sexual experiences: Self-explanatory.

Overall, I am genuinely excited about this new niche direction and its promise of an abundance of interesting and entertaining content! Feel free to post any suggestions in the comments section if you’d like, as well.

Well, that didn’t work. It said I *love* Ramona. I need a tree to carve that in. Anyone know a good SL skywriter?

    Noche,

Don’t discount the need to for someone talking about SL sex. The nitty gritty. Transcripts. Detailing the love, the kink, the outright perversion that permeates SL.

I love the idea of talking about relationships - but I also need the hot stuff ;)

Oh no, there will be plenty of hot stuff to come. (pun intended) Believe me! Did the post give the impression to the contrary? Perhaps I should reword it …

By the way, I am very eager to speak with you and Ramona in more detail. I haven’t heard from Wired yet. I’ll bug them on Monday, then if I don’t hear from them by Tuesday, to heck with them. I’d like to do that piece for this blog.

We’re ready when you are - we just need to work out the East Coast/West Coast time lag :)

Oh, and I’m not sure that you gave that impression to anyone but me - I’m just in the mood for some of the hot stuff, I suppose. Talk to you soon.

Well, I’d love to do a feature on the touching SL romance of darkchyld and Ramona. I also interviewed another devout same-sex couple yesterday. I’ll be making a post on that probably tonight for this blog, but I could also probably toss some of my notes into the Wired piece, as well.

I don’t know how seriously Wired takes the story pitches that arrive via the “contact us” feature on the Web site, but that’s how I proposed my idea. I told Tony Long in Editorial last week that I could give the story a Valentine’s Day spin. Still haven’t heard back.
